How It Works

The chi-squared test compares observed conversion rates against what would be expected if there were no difference between variations. It produces a test statistic and p-value indicating the probability that the observed difference occurred by chance.

A p-value less than 0.05 (5% significance level) means there's less than a 5% chance the difference is due to random variation, making the result statistically significant.

Interpretation Guide

  • p < 0.05: Result is statistically significant at 95% confidence
  • p < 0.01: Result is highly significant at 99% confidence
  • p > 0.05: Cannot conclude there's a real difference
